Bio

I am a PhD candidate and career educator. I have over a decade of experience as an outdoor educator, taking teens on wilderness trips, canoeing, and rock climbing. For eleven years I was a key faculty member at Prairie Phoenix Academy, an innovative public high school using experiential, project based and personalized learning. In addition to my current role as a researcher at the Institute for Innovative Assessment, I am completing a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at UW-Madison. My research explores the ways in which digital technologies can transform PK-12 schooling. I am the lead designer of the CALL for Personalized Learning, a formative feedback tool that helps educators refine their practices to support student agency.
